The first year architecture students embarked on their third design project, taking a step back in time. The students are engaging with the research on the Homo Sapiens Corridor, by investigating five caves in the forms of drawings and models. The caves under investigation include: Blombos Cave, Pinnacle Point Cave PP13B, Nelson Bay Main Cave and Klasies River Main Cave. The work is currently on exhibition at the Department of architecture, First Year Studio from 3 to 13 April 2017. The project of the cave was done in collaboration with AEON who has identifies the Homo Sapiens Corridor.
